[caption id="" align="aligncenter" width="380" caption="Photo Courtesy of NOLA.com"][/caption] A new bill signed into law by Governor Bobby Jindal will allow Louisiana Municipalities and Parishes to issue extended 2-Year inspection/brake tag stickers. The bill keeps the annual price for vehicle inspection at the current $10 level but will allow vehicle owners to pay 2 years at once for a total of $20 per inspection. This may be a welcome development for local vehicle owners looking to avoid the hassle of renewing inspection every year and may reduce the number of citations issued for expired inspection/brake tag stickers. It is important to note, however, that the new extension will not take effect in parishes designated as having pollution problems by the EPA (or to commercial vehicles).
